Praise Chapel International Assembly Of God Church as it has come to be known, started as a prayer group with about twelve (12) members with the zeal of oneness in mind and judgment, with pastor Anthony A. Crentsil as head of the group.
As Paul the apostle puts in 1 Corinthians 1:10 (b),”but that you may be perfectly joined together in the same mind and judgment”. After a while, the group joined forces with Our Lord’s Assembly of God Church, which worshipped in the morning from 9:00am to 12:00pm on Sundays.
It was one of the most exciting and memorable times in the period of the group because it gave us the opportunity to sharpen each other’s iron and to blend with different cultures together in the worship of one God.
Pastor Anthony A. Crentsil became the associate pastor for our Lord’s church in the morning service. After a couple of years, our Lord Jesus Christ through pastor Anthony Crentsil gave birth to a new Assembly of God outlet in accordance with the church’s constitution, after being certified and licensed as an Assembly of God minster. It became necessary to break new grounds and outdoor an afternoon session worship.
The beginning stages of this session had its fair share of obstacles, challenges and persecutions but in all these the church stood its grounds with an encouragement from Paul the apostles in 2 Corinthians 4:8-10; “We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies”. With the oneness in spirit, mind and judgment a new outlet of Assembly of God Church was instituted September 14, 2005, named as Praise Chapel International Church Inc – Assembly of God Church , with a vision of bringing together all worshippers of various cultural backgrounds, race and color in the oneness of worship, for we are all created in His image.
The Bible says that “Our God is a God of increase”. His word is being fulfilled, Praise Chapel International Church which started with twelve members now has a membership of over 140 and we believe that our God is not finished with us yet. His increase is immeasurable. Since the inception of the church, our Lord has moved in accordance with the vision he gave to the church by bringing people of different cultures, background, race and color, an awesome testimony that the church can stand on and give glory to his Holy Name.
“God rewards those who diligently seek Him “That He is good and His mercies shall endure.” As the years roll by we look forward to new challenges and the assuring promises of our God in His words. One of the most important of His words being fulfilled is that “He is with us till the close of age, just as He told His disciples during his ascension. Indeed He is building His church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
